About Alison Bourey

Alison Bourey is Director of ABM Management Company LLC bringing clients expertise in Market Intelligence, Market Research and Knowledge Management.

She has applied her skills in analyzing competitors, customers, and markets for clients across many industries from chemistry to social services and education to IT with a special emphasis on healthcare. 

Bourey developed Market Intelligence for large public Fortune 500 companies such as Express Scripts and Solutia. She designed e-business type knowledge management systems to improve business decisions across the company from senior management to marketing and customer service. She pioneered trade show intelligence efforts gathering the critical insights about competitors, customers and prospects that focused new sales presentations.

From 1985 to 1998, Bourey led market intelligence and market research at Saint Louis University Health Science Center where her responsibilities ranged from targeting site locations for medical practices to managing demographic and physician databases used in manpower planning and new service development. She served on the University Hospital Consortium satisfaction research committee that created and analyzed patient and family attitudes used to improve service at 43 university health centers across the country. 

In addition to her consulting practice, Alison is the Chapter Coordinator for the St. Louis Chapter of the Society of Competitive Intelligence Professional (SCIP) and serves as a member of Review Committee for annual SCIP conference.

Alison is past president of Women in Healthcare, an American College of Healthcare Executives affiliate. As well as currently serving on the Health Care Administration faculty of Maryville University in St. Louis, MO, she has been on the faculties of Drake University, Washington University, University of Wisconsin - Lacrosse and Coastal Carolina College. Her Sociology degrees include B.A. from Mt. Holyoke College, M.A. from Teachers College, Columbia University and Ph.D. from The Florida State University.
